Job Description: What is the Student Ambassador Program?

Description of Duties
- Greets students and answers general inquiries about the Faculty of Law (minors, majors, and joint degree programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) with a positive attitude.
- Hosts virtual and, when safety guidelines permit, in-person Faculty tours and class visits.
- In collaboration with the Faculty of Law’s Admissions Office, shares their student experience and answers questions from prospective and admitted students, their families, guidance counselors, and alumni during webinars, virtual events and, when safety guidelines permit, in-person events.
- Participates in social media campaigns and events (e.g. Instagram, Facebook and YouTube).
- The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent.
- Weekly hours vary depending on event schedule and tasks assigned. When assigned, work will be 2 - 5 hours per week. Flexibility required.

- En collaboration avec le Bureau des admissions de la Faculté de droit, partager leur expérience étudiante et répondre aux questions des étudiants potentiels et admis, de leurs familles, des conseillers d'orientation et des anciens lors de webinaires, d'événements virtuels et, lorsque les consignes de sécurité le permettent, d'événements en personne.
- Participe à des campagnes et événements sur les réseaux sociaux (par exemple, Instagram, Facebook et YouTube).
- Prend en charge d'autres activités et événements de recrutement et de rendement, au besoin, comme répondre au téléphone, répondre aux courriels et aider dans diverses tâches administratives; aider au montage et au démontage des panneaux, équipements, etc. lors d'événements sur le campus.
- La liste des fonctions décrites ci-dessus est représentative et non une liste complète et détaillée des tâches qui peuvent être exécutées par un titulaire.
- Les heures hebdomadaires varient en fonction du calendrier des événements et des tâches assignées. Une fois assigné, le travail sera de 2 à 5 heures par semaine. Flexibilité requise.

Qualifications Required:

- Passive bilingualism
- General knowledge of the Faculty and student life
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be willing to engage and initiate conversations with students and their families
- Involvement in the McGill community (clubs, services, athletics or other university activities) an asset
- Customer service and social media experience an asset
- All chosen Student Ambassadors will be required to complete a training given by the Admissions Office.

- Bilinguisme passif
- Connaissance générale de la Faculté et de la vie étudiante
- Solides compétences en communication écrite et orale
- Solides compétences interpersonnelles - doit être disposé à engager et à initier des conversations avec les étudiants et leurs familles
- Implication dans la communauté mcgilloise (clubs, services, sports ou autres activités universitaires) un atout
- Expérience du service à la clientèle et des médias sociaux, un atout
- Tous les étudiants ambassadeurs choisis devront suivre une formation dispensée par le Bureau des admissions.
