As part of the Management Team, the Fabrication Manager will oversee the specific metal fabrication of the Company, find any areas in which the organization can improve, plan long-term initiatives for success while working with various teams and departments on improvements and solutions, while analyzing budgets to minimize costs. The Manufacturing Manager will also monitor changes and adjust plans accordingly and communicate their findings and plans with Executive Team to ensure changes are implemented correctly.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee all metal fabrication, scheduling, training on equipment, and metal inventories required on hand
- Create long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals efficiently
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to review and implement strategies and cross-training efforts
- Analyze budgets to minimize costs without sacrificing quality and profits
- Assist in the implementation and training on ERP System
- Plan, coordinate and lead production meetings with department employees
- Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated
- Create presentations and communicate with Executive Team about recommendations to improve manufacturing methods, department efficiency, scrap reduction, equipment, performance, safety and product quality
- Identify problems and effective solutions quickly
- Promote a customer-first attitude through coaching and setting a great example while remaining calm under pressure
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for prospective new hires (full-time and temporary)
- Identify and present job offer contracts to current manufacturing team members successful in internal opportunities
- Review, complete forms, follow up and communicate information related to the daily manpower for metal fabrication (Time/Attendance)
- Review and approve any manufacturing employee time off requests for Vacation, Pre-Approved, Banked, etc.
- Partner with Human Resources in probationary and annual employee performance reviews, training and progressive discipline
- Review, follow up and sign off on all Accident and Incident/Hazard Reporting Forms
- Act as the Management Representative on the Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Ensure the company health and safety policy is being enforced and to practice best health and safety practices
- Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to safety, legality and quality
- Promote a clean and safe work area and workplace

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Ability to work with minimum supervision and initiate actions within the scope of authority
- Maintains standards of confidentiality with respect to private information
- Ability to prioritize assignments according to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure a positive and professional attitude while working with your peers
- Available to work additional hours when required
- Adhere to all company policies and procedure
- Perform any other duties that may be superficially or generally assigned

**Required Knowledge and Experience**:

- Diploma or Degree in related field
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting with relevant experience in laser cutting, punch press, manual sheet metal bending, scheduling and forecasting would be preferred.
- 2+ years supervisory experience
- Outstanding knowledge in manufacturing processes (metal forming, bend deductions, die clearances, CNC machine operation, etc.)
- Strong ERP system knowledge (DelmiaWorks) is an asset
- Outstanding leadership and team building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, operational, and planning skills
- Proven financial planning, auditing and budgeting skills
- High level of analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to identify opportunities, multitask and manage time effectively

**Effort**:

- Frequent periods of mental and visual concentration during computer work and analyses
- Frequent interruptions which require the ability to juggle several priorities and refocus quickly
- Involves some walking throughout plant
- Volume of work is steady with periods of high demand and time pressures

**Working Conditions**:

- Most work is carried out in a typical business office with occasional visits to the shop floor which requires wearing personal protective equipment
- Exposure to elements such as dust, temperature and noise during time spent on shop floor
