**Job Summary**

The Accounts Payable (A/P) assistant is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing payables to individuals, carriers, and other entities. This includes filing, maintaining, and updating financial spreadsheets and performing other administrative duties of the A/P department.
- **Duties & Responsibilities**_
- Perform Accounts Payable data entry
- Review and verify invoices and cheque requests
- Sort, code and match invoices
- Enter and upload invoices for processing and payment
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries, while maintaining vendor files
- Provide supporting documentation for internal requests
- Perform other administrative duties of the A/P department
- Investigate payment problems while following A/P policies and procedures
- Other duties as required
- **Qualifications**_
- High school diploma or equivalent level
- One year’s direct experience in an A/P capacity
- Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information and preparing financial reports
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$42,000.00 per year
