Consisting of an interdisciplinary team of health professionals and support staff, Health & Wellness at the University of Toronto aims to support graduate and undergraduate students in reaching their academic goals, engage students in their development and learning, and support their health and well-being by providing health education, clinical and consultation services. Health and Wellness (HW) provides counselling to students with a wide range of concerns ranging from relationship problems to debilitating depression and anxiety, suicidal and/or homicidal ideation, post-traumatic stress, and eating disorders.

**Your opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice & Quality Assurance at the University of Toronto, the Special Projects Manager (SPM) is expected to engage in project management, research, and outreach to community partners to support and advance the goals and objectives of the Best Practices Network in Canadian Higher Ed (“Best Practices Network” or “Network”), a collaboration between the University of Toronto, Queen’s University, McGill University, and the University of British Columbia. The Best Practices Network is a national mental health community of practice and knowledge exchange network that supports Canadian post-secondary campuses and aims to promote and advance evidence-informed emerging, promising, and best practice mental health and wellness initiatives that improve Canadian post-secondary students’ mental health and well-being. The SPM is responsible for a variety of activities in support of knowledge exchange and knowledge dissemination. The position will be responsible for a variety of knowledge exchange and learning activities to support network members in their collective work to advance best practices in student mental health in postsecondary contexts.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Administers the day to day functions of the network.
- Support evaluations and assessments of mental health projects across the country.
- Conducting literature reviews. Researching and recommending appropriate resources and materials summarizing the information as reference materials to support projects, communications materials and presentations.
- Planning and implementing project phases
- Developing and maintaining project quality control standards
- Producing complex statistical information. Formatting data collected for presentations and reports.
- Reviewing and assessing requirements needed to meet project timelines and informing project leaders of issues and roadblocks.
- Developing overall project design including contributing charter, scope, etc.
- Conducts research & event planning

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in health sciences, mental health, public health or other appropriate field, Master’s degree preferred or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum six years relevant experience in project design and implementation with applicability to knowledge exchange and communications in a mental health setting.
- Extensive experience managing complex and multi-stakeholder projects, including leading, organizing and tracking the outcomes of projects, preferable in a mental health setting.
- Experience producing reports and presenting findings.
- Experience with website maintenance (WordPress).
- Experience with statistical software (SPSS).
- Familiarity and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (interviews, focus groups, etc.).
- Familiarity with current national and international best practices in post-secondary student mental health programming, evaluation, and research.
- Ability to work with diverse groups, strong facilitation interpersonal skills and political acumen, ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong research, writing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Computer skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
