**As a Consultant, Colleague Relations, you will partner with, support and provide guidance on a range of people matters to both colleagues and People & Culture (HR) Managers. Examples include**:

- Serving as a specialized resource to our team and people on matters pertaining to the firm’s national People & Culture policies and programs
- Seeks assistance from Manager or Senior Manager, Colleague Relations on complex/exceptional issues
- Providing advice and counsel to people managers and colleagues on workplace situations, in a transparent manner and ensuring a fair employee experience, while managing risk to the firm. Such advice and counsel to be confined within the Firm’s policies and escalated to Manager or Senior Manager, Colleague Relations on complex issues
- Advising on terminations and drafting applicable termination documents, within Firm guidelines
- Negotiating termination/exit packages, as directed by the Manager, Colleague Relations
- Supporting awareness, understanding and compliance with policy and business ethics practices applicable federal and provincial employment and human rights legislation
- In consultation with Manager or Senior Manager, Colleague Relations, reviews requests for medical leaves of absence and non-medical leaves of absence
- Supporting the People & Culture team and colleagues by appropriately documenting any circumstance wherein an individual’s terms of employment require non-standard adjustments. Seeks assistance from Manager or Senior Manager, Colleague Relations on complex issues
- Participating in internal workplace investigations, as directed by the Manager, Colleague Relations
- Monitoring and promoting flexibility within the region in the context of the firm’s Hybrid Work policy
- Analyzing trends and common themes as it relates to involuntary turnover and other colleague relations matters
- In consultation with Manager or Senior Manager, Colleague Relations, reviews requests for hybrid policy exceptions
- Special projects as required

- University degree or college diploma with a focus on Human Resources or equivalent stream
- A specialist designation (or working towards) CHRP/CPHR is preferred
- 2-3 years’ HR Generalist experience. Preference will be given to strong HRIS and/or payroll experience and to experience in the professional services industry
- Knowledge of multi-province employment legislation and excellent research and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Great team player who is also comfortable working independently
- Proven time-management and multi-tasking skills; able to manage multiple competing deadlines in a calm, ‘can-do’ manner
- Must be able to work beyond regular working hours to meet business needs as required
