**About Us**

The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services has significant oversight and involvement in the public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations. The department is responsible for the administration of law enforcement, correctional services, policing and police oversight and public safety. The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime, including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The Ministry also coordinates large scale emergency and disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and initiatives.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Correctional Programs and Procurement, the Contract Manager you are accountable for a complex and comprehensive contracting program to support the contract management of services for the Correctional Services Division. This includes contract management of a variety of ongoing services to meet core functions of the division, such as rehabilitation programs, open custody group homes, and laundry and security services, as well as ad hoc services required. You will provide advice and recommendations to executive and senior management and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders to procure, develop and maintain divisional contracts.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Providing direction and professional expertise to ensure alignment with Ministry and Government strategic priorities, business plans and relevant legislation, regulations, policies and trade agreements.
- Efficient contract management policies and processes are developed, implemented, maintained, evaluated and enhanced to establish a strong divisional program.
- Ongoing support and education regarding contract processes and business requirements.
- Providing support to the Director, Executive Director and Assistant Deputy Minister in achieving branch and divisional objectives.

You must ensure consistent, integrated and comprehensive processes are established to support the areas of responsibility. You will function with a high level of independence and demonstrate contract management expertise. You will also require excellent time management and organizational skills, well developed and demonstrated communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of ministry and government representatives and stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field such as a business or project management supplemented by at least four years related experience. Related experience would include project management, contract management, supply chain management. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

Experience with the procurement process, previous contract oversight or management will be considered an asset. Experience negotiating and preparing contracting documents will be considered an asset. Project management will also be considered an asset.
