**About the Position**:
Reporting to the Research Manager, the Researcher will play a substantive role in ONCAT’s research projects and activities. In particular, the Researcher will analyze complex datasets and generate insights that inform ONCAT’s research publications and presentations. Additionally, the Researcher will support a variety of research activities in an engaging and fast-paced environment.
The Researcher will leverage their expertise in research methods and data analysis to bolster ONCAT’s research capacity. They will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience working in a collaborative environment.
**Responsibilities**:
**Contribute to research activities for ONCAT-led projects — 65%**

- In collaboration with the research team, the Researcher will aid in the development and implementation of innovative research projects
- Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans
- Organize, restructure, and analyze complex data sources
- Contribute materials for reports and presentations, particularly for portions related to research literature, data sources, and research methodologies
- Develop and support the writing of technical documents Support the administration and development of research projects
**Support general research activities for ONCAT — 25%**
- Provide research assistance (e.g., fact checks) for ONCAT programs, communications, and presentations
- Compile and process information required for government reports and inquiries
**Support ONCAT-funded projects — 10%**

- Assist with the administration of ONCAT’s grant programs and RFPs
- Review preliminary and final deliverables from ONCAT-funded projects
**Essential Qualifications and Experiences**
- A graduate degree in social sciences, education, or public policy
- 2+ years of experience in a research-intensive capacity
- Expertise with quantitative research methodologies, including multivariate analysis techniques
- Familiarity with quantitative data analysis software, preferably Stata and R
- A demonstrated commitment to developing and evaluating research projects through the lenses of equity, intersectionality, and reconciliation
- Intellectual curiosity, a collaborative spirit, and dynamic communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**s
- Familiarity with Statistics Canada data
- Familiarity with qualitative and mixed methods research methodologies
- Familiarity with recent research in higher education, particularly with topics related to ONCAT’s mandate and activities
- Familiarity with Ontario’s postsecondary sector
- Familiarity with public policy, government relations, and advocacy
- Previous research publications and presentations
- The capacity to work in both official languages
