**Position Profile**:
The Youth Support Supervisor is a key leadership role that is focused on supporting the most marginalized and vulnerable youth across the Region of Peel. This Supervisor will lead the day-to-day operations at the Transitional Housing program with a focus on client-centered and trauma-informed care. The day shifts run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The evening shift runs from 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

As part of the leadership team, the incumbent will provide leadership and supervision to front-line youth workers, volunteers and students. This will include supporting any daily administrative functions of the Transitional Housing program and staff scheduling.

**Role Overview**:

- Build, lead and engage frontline staff by providing support and supervision in line with growth and development.
- Support the daily administrative functions of the Program, including staff scheduling.
- Facilitates, contributes, and manages regular program meetings while focusing on deliverable, quality, and continuous improvement.
- A role model in promoting a healthy and safe environment, while maintaining process, procedure and policies for all safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Assists with recruiting and hiring and performance management of new employees, volunteers, and students focused on talent that will always act in the best interests of the youth in support.
- Oversees monthly scheduling, reviews timesheets before submission and coordinates vacation requests.
- Provides constructive feedback in regular supervision to employees, volunteers and students.
- Implement the HR policies, procedures, and practices of the organization.
- Responsible and leads the day-to-day shift organization of the transitional housing program.
- Ensures that the continuity of appropriate admission, service, and discharge procedures are in line with the agency’s philosophies and complaint with the Region of Peel’s Transitional Housing Standards.
- Compile statistical information and prepare monthly reports as required for program evaluation and development.
- Participate on committees and task forces as required with other agencies addressing issues facing youth.
- Create a safe and secure setting for all youth accessing services at the transitional program.
- Ensure that professional standards are maintained as related to client documentation and case management.
- Ensure that the facility meets health and safety standards.
- Foster a positive and supportive working environment.
- All other duties as required in the successful management of shelter operations while partnering with all stakeholders in support of organizational success.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Social Services or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 3-4 years of experience along with 1-year supervisory experience working within the social service sector, preferably in a shelter/residential setting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A leader with excellent communication, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting the most vulnerable and marginalized youth in our community.
- Flexibility to work in a 24-hour, 7 days a week operation, while supporting an on-call rotation.
- Knowledge of resources and supports for youth and exposure to Region of Peel resources.
- Experience addressing the needs of homeless clients, including making referrals to community agencies.
- Cultural competency sensitivity and commitment to working through an EDIB, anti-oppressive, anti-racism framework.
- A valid Ontario’s full G Driver’s Licence is required, with a clean driver’s abstract. A $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is also mandatory.
- Valid CPI and/or UMAB and First Aid/ CPR certifications.
- Completion of a successful Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check will be a condition of employment.
