HDR is seeking an Environmental Scientist 2. In this role, we will count on you to:

- Work on a wide variety of aquatic programs, environmental assessments, and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transportation and development projects
- Work under the supervision of senior environmental scientists and engineers
- Take responsibility for managing field staff, working with clients, obtaining environmental permits, designing and leading biological assessments and other environmental programs.
- Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data
- Perform other duties as needed

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Knowledge of water quality programs, field investigation techniques, and regulatory coordination requirements
- Strong background in fish and fish habitat assessments
- Experience working in the rail, mining and oil and gas sectors.
- Marine experience is an asset in addition to having a strong freshwater background

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong environmental writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
