**Job Description** AECOM** is actively seeking a highly motivated **GIS Specialist** for employment. This role can be located at any AECOM office in Ontario.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
- Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
- Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
- Support digital data collection programs
- Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Develop and maintain databases, reports, and maps.
- Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
- Prepare and update metadata
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
**Qualifications** Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography or other related field required
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Willingness to travel (up to 10% local travel)
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Basic experience working with ArcGIS and other GIS databases
- Proficiency with ESRI desktop mapping and analysis tools and extensions (ArcGIS Online, Portal, Web Apps, Survey 123 etc)
- Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality
- Proficiency in the processing and analysis of raster and vector geospatial data
- Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form
- Familiar with GIS production environments
- Working knowledge of LiDAR processing techniques
- Working knowledge of raster processing techniques
- Driver's license
**Additional Information**
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $50,000 - $70,000.
