**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced **Produce Manager** to join our team. As the Produce Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our produce department, ensuring that our selection of fresh fruits and vegetables meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming shopping experience, working closely with our team to maintain a well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing produce section.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage the ordering, receiving, and stocking of produce items to ensure freshness and quality.
- Ensure proper rotation of products to minimize waste and maximize shelf life.
- Lead a small team, providing training and guidance on produce handling, customer service, and merchandising.
- Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to optimize stock levels and product selection.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing produce department.
- Assist customers with produce selection, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
- Work closely with vendors to source high-quality, locally grown produce whenever possible.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and store policies.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of **2 years of experience in produce** within a grocery or retail environment.
- Minimum of **2 years of experience in a managerial role**, with proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and produce handling techniques, including proper storage and rotation to maintain freshness.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage inventory and optimize stock levels.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and assist customers confidently.
- A passion for fresh, high-quality food and a commitment to sustainability.
- **Must be legally eligible to work in Canada** (no sponsorships available).
