Overview:
Trend Micro Research is seeking a Vulnerability Research Analysis Lead to join our industry-leading research team. Trend Micro Research supports a global customer base including leading security product vendors, software and high-tech manufacturers, telecommunications providers, and large enterprise customers with a set of industry-leading technical data feeds, research products, and engineering services.
This role will be responsible for communicating with all aspects of threat research efforts within Trend Micro to identify critical talent requirements and collaboration opportunities to ensure Trend Micro attracts the right talent and continue to grow to our threat expert pool. This role will ultimately help protect our customers against zero-day threats by ensuring our threat expert pool can continually adapt to the ever-changing threat landscape and its domain expertise requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Communicate with all threat research efforts within Trend Micro to identify critical talent needs and expertise requirements.- Identify suitable threat research projects to facilitate knowledge transfer and bring up threat experts.- Oversee day-to-day operations of a team of researchers and interns spanning across multiple time zones.- Provide guidance on overcoming research obstacles and mentor junior researchers.- Curate and develop technical training materials to reduce ramp up time for junior researchers.- Cultivate information sharing and learning culture within Trend Micro.- Help with recruiting interns, fresh graduates, and junior threat researchers.
Qualifications:
- Functional knowledge in reverse engineering, vulnerability research, exploitation techniques and operating systems internals- Familiarity with tools such as IDA Pro, OllyDbg, WinDbg, gdb and Wireshark- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Reliable and dependable team player- Great attention to detail and personal quality assurance- Experience in managing threat researchers
Preferred Professional Designation/Certification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field preferred but not required
