The Health & Safety Specialist, is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety procedures, providing training to employees, investigating incidents, and continuously improving the safety culture within the organization.

**What will you do as an Health and Safety Specialist at Spark Power?**
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures as needed.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Provide training and education on health and safety practices.
- Investigate and report any incidents or accidents that occur in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for health and safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in health and safety, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and implement necessary modifications to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
- Foster a positive safety culture by promoting awareness, encouraging employee engagement, and recognizing achievements in health and safety.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for**:

- Post-Secondary Education preferably majoring in Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of 3-5 years related construction or electrical work experience.
- NCSO or CRSP Designation.
- Experience in Health and Safety Policy writing, or technical writing is an asset.
- Requires the ability to travel to various locations regularly.

- ** Monitoring** — Monitoring/Assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

**Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions**
- Normal concentration/intensity, which includes prolonged mental effort.
- Normal memory takes into consideration the amount and type of information.
- Normal complexity of decision making.
- Normal physical mobility includes movement from place to place on the job taking distance and speed into account.
- Normal physical strength to handle routine lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- The duties of this position are typically performed in an office setting with normal temperature ranges and a moderate to high level of office background noise. The duties will also include performance time in the field at terminals and operations. This may consist of outdoor and project-related work.
- Occasionally travel to meetings throughout the office, other company office sites, and field locations.
- Constantly work in a team environment, effectively and efficiently achieving goals, improving processes and resolving problems.
