The Ministry of Indigenous Relations’ Aboriginal Consultation Office (ACO) manages the consultation process and determines the adequacy of consultation for activities under the jurisdiction or the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). The ACO oversees the consultation process and provides advice, including recommendations as to adequacy or consultation, to other government ministries. The ACO also works with First Nations, Metis Settlements, credibly asserted Métis communities, the Alberta Energy Regulator, other government departments, and industry proponents to build respectful relationships, increase understanding of the Policy and Guidelines, facilitate dialogue, and manage emerging issues.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Are you someone passionate in working with digital systems, managing all aspects of system enhancements in an agile manner and leading multiple projects focusing on business process improvements? The Aboriginal Consultation Office is looking for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative and dynamic environment and be responsible for assisting in the efficient delivery of the ACO’s mandate. The ACO works with Indigenous communities, industry proponents, other government departments and the AER to provide efficient, coordinated, and consistent consultation process.

This important work will include:

- Being responsible for process development work and supporting digital system enhancements.
- Establishing project goals and leading project teams, schedule and assign work to team members.
- Monitoring and tracking issues for data analysis, analyzing trends, and measures to ensure ACO’s mandate is met.
- Implementing an effective evaluation process for programs and project management.
- Focusing significant effort on judgement and problem-solving skills to solve complex problems.
- Participate in Ministry, cross-ministry and stakeholder teams and committees, representing the perspectives of and requirements of the ACO and Ministry as appropriate.

**Requirement**:

- University graduation in Natural Resources, Environment Management, Environmental Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Public Policy, History, Political Science, Geography, Law, Anthropology or in a related field.
- A minimum of four years of related progressively responsible experience working with natural resource industry and/or Indigenous communities; developing and improving processes, digital system enhancements.
