**Job Description**:
The Surgical System Administrator reports directly to the Business Manager, Surgical Program.

Accountabilities:

- Administrate schedule blocks in PICIS OR Manager to ensure optimal utilization
- Work closely with the surgical and ambulatory care team and the external physicians' office to support smooth transitions in care
- Act as the office engagement to support the onboarding of new physicians and their offices and provide ongoing education, communication and support
- Liaise with Cancer Care Ontario as a backup wait time information system (WTIS) coordinator, participating in monthly wait time and surgical efficiency target program teleconferences and extracting monthly and weekly wait time data, filling out registration forms and managing additions of new surgeons
- Follow change control procedures to manage project scope and provide assistance with pre-admission testing and anaesthesia scheduling in OR Manager
- Review schedules to ensure optimal utilization of operating room time and management of released blocks
- Tracking of operating room utilization
- Support surgeons offices with immediate technical issues (e.g. surgeons are not able to place bookings on the grid), providing training and escalating to manager for over-writes
- Provide technical support for operating room nurses assisting with pick lists, maintain the PICIS dictionaries and new procedure codes
- Support the onboarding of new physicians and their offices and provide refresher training as needed regarding bookings, PAC paperwork and other hospital processes
- Provide communication, training and support for new processes or initiatives
- Assist with projects impacting the running of the surgical information centre and the external physician offices
- Work closely with surgeons’ offices and the WTIS coordinator to provide support in the area of data quality

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree in health informatics, computer science, statistics or business management (with a combination of previous working experience in a hospital and proven database and analytical technical skills)
- Five years working in health care
- Statistical analysis background would be an asset to provide back up for the surgical clinical analyst or WTIS coordinator
- Soft skills and previous background as help desk/computer instructor would be an asset for triaging issues from the surgeons' offices
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
- Ability travel across all Osler sites and to external physician’s office
