The Candora Society of Edmonton is currently seeking a motivated, collaborative person for a full-time Family and Community Resource Worker (FCRW) position. Reporting to the Family and Community Resource Manager, the FCRW will work closely with the Family and Community Resource team to enhance our wrap-around service delivery for community members.

The FCRW will connect with, build strong working relationships and provide support and referral services as needed for Candora participants and other community members. Working collaboratively with other organizations, the worker will help individuals and families connect with relevant programs and supports as desired or needed.

This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) dependant on funding.

The CANDORA Society is a community-based organization in N.E. Edmonton that works together with community residents to effect positive change in their lives and the community. The organization has a long history of grassroots community development that is built upon a participatory learning approach and relationship-based practice to help affect positive change in the lives of individuals, families and

communities.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise with other organizations and be a resource within the community of Northeast Edmonton and The Candora Society of Edmonton.
- Volunteer recruitment and management for services and programs related to the Family and Community Resource centre
- Work collaboratively with the Family and Community Resource Team
- Attend Family and Community Resource Team Meetings
- Targeted community outreach for members of the community, employing an equity lens for marginalized populations
- Identify program interests and needs through individual and group community conversations
- Develop and facilitate at least one core group program
- Working with individuals, including parents, youth and families to provide one on one support and resource navigation
- Facilitate supported referrals for community members to internal and external individual and family supports and programming
- Consistent written reports to track activities, program outputs and outcomes
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications, Skills & Competencies**
- Clear CYIM and Police Security Clearance
- Post-secondary education in a Human Service field or experience equivalency
- Understanding of/ability to navigate disability services and supports
- Understanding of/ability to navigate 2SLGBTQI+ services and supports
- Commitment to the vision, mission, values and beliefs of the Candora Society
- Clear understanding of professional boundaries and ethics
- Orientation towards relationship based, reflective practice skills and a strong commitment to community development
- Working knowledge of community organizations and programming, or willingness to develop the same
- Demonstrated knowledge and intercultural experience in working with people of different cultural backgrounds, high needs, and marginalized populations
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills.

**Working Conditions**
- The FCRW is a full-time position (35 hours week). Days and hours of work may be flexible dependent of the ongoing needs of the role.
- The FCRW will work both in an office setting and in community settings and non-standard workplaces
