**Who we are**:
For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.
Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact - and be recognized for it.
**Your role**:
As the Corporate Culture & Events Planner, you will be at the forefront of creating a positive and inclusive space for all employees. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a range of programs and events as part of an overarching strategy to promote engagement, maintain high morale, and build upon the office culture in our Vancouver headquarters.
No two days will be alike. One minute you will be organizing a wellbeing seminar as part of Diversity and Inclusion week, and the next helping a staff member turn their social club idea into a reality
You will work with many departments to support buy-in and ownership of employee culture and engagement. You will provide proactive advice on how to enhance the employee experience and support other teams' objectives to help drive business results.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have lots of creativity, impeccable stakeholder management, excellent follow-through, and the ability to build relationships and influence easily. You will also need to understand budgetary considerations, company values, and organizational priorities, all while conveying a sense of fun, inclusion and teamwork.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Coordinate, facilitate, and execute a variety of corporate events that promote a fun/engaging office culture
- Be a champion of building culture and helping team members to know and live in alignment with our values
- Turn staff ideas into reality and run with things that help grow the office culture
- Develop and deliver communication plans for internal campaigns and projects
- Facilitate a core program of events and annual activities that run throughout the year
- Support and manage internal volunteer programs, including the Gastown Grand Prix, Ronald Macdonald House dinners, and other community initiatives
- Organize, promote and deliver events and activities; plan the schedule, gain approval, host and/or facilitate the program, and ensure everything runs smoothly
- Support other departments to deliver office culture initiatives e.g., assist HR with Diversity & Inclusion related goals
- Engage with staff on a routine basis to understand sentiment and enable feedback to management
- Build effective feedback mechanisms and keep a pulse on reaction levels
- Ensure proper, effective and professional communication is distributed in a timely manner
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to deliver new and innovative ways to engage and empower staff, evaluate activity, and share suggestions
- Keep online resources and communication tools current, organized, and user friendly
**About you**:
- Driven to enhance the staff experience and build the overall culture of an organization
- Highly creative with the ability to come up with many ideas paired with the follow-through to bring them to life
- Experience liaising and working with a diverse set of stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Confident presentation style with an ability to present to a wide range of staff, including senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Prior events management or project management experience is definitely an asset
**What you can expect**:
At Global Relay, there's no ceiling to what you can achieve. It's the land of opportunity for the energetic, the intelligent, the driven. You'll receive the mentoring, coaching, and support you need to reach your career goals. You'll be part of a culture that breeds creativity and rewards perseverance and hard work. And you'll be working alongside smart, talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with complementary knowledge and skills.
Global Relay is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We seek to ensure reasonable adjustments, accommodations, and personal time are tailored to meet the unique needs of every individual.
We understand flexible work arrangements are important, and we encourage that in our work culture. Whether it's flexibility around work hours, workstyle, or lifestyle, we want to ensure our employees have a healthy work/life balance.
