Church Custodian/maintenance

**Main Responsibilities are**:
A. Cleans and performs general upkeep of PTC premises of heavily trafficked common areas. Performs routine upkeep and general cleaning of exterior premises. Completes non-routine cleaning and special projects. Responds to emergency cleaning. Maintain church grounds including mowing lawn, clearing sidewalks and salting. Removes garbage and recyclables daily and prepares bins for municipal pick-up weekly

B. Ensures rooms and grounds are equipped and maintained for use by preparing spaces for various activities with furniture set-up and teardown. Adjusts lighting, temperature, ventilation, etc. as necessary. Cleans and maintains all furniture and supplies in good condition after use and reports any damage

C. Performs light duty repairs and minor maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles. Responsible for minor repairs to buildings and equipment. Wall repairs and painting of spaces. Assist with the seasonal equipment shutdowns and startups.

- Ability to perform physical work, cleaning, lifting, pulling and moving furniture and objects
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Fluent in English language - ability to speak, read and comprehend

**Experience & Education Required**
- Experience using detergents and other cleaning products
- Experience with cleaning standards
- Secondary School Diploma
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Peace Tower Church.
- Previous experience in maintaining an old church building (asset)
- Two to three years of experience in providing custodian services (preferred)
- Two to three years experience in performing minor repairs in an institutional or commercial setting
- Experience using various cleaning machines or equipment such as vacuuming, scrubber machine and carpet cleaning machines (asset)

**Other**
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Willing to submit a clear Police background check
- Willing to work weekends and evenings when required

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
