Head Custodian

Head Custodian Wanted for Charitable Organization in Ottawa

We are a reputable charitable organization seeking a Head Custodian to join our team. As the Head Custodian, you will be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of our facility. You will also be responsible for managing a team of custodial staff to ensure that our facilities are clean and safe for all visitors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Schedule and Manage custodial staff to ensure the facility is clean and safe at all times
- Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for the property and facility
- Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed
- Liaison with trade contractors for maintenance and service when required
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment for all staff and visitors
- Proactively respond to any cleaning or maintenance issues

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in custodial duties and management
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, heating and electrical systems
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, flexible personal schedule and vehicle is as asset.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON K2A 4A1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Custodial: 5 years (preferred)
