Procurement and Material Purchasing Specialist

**Key Responsibilities**:
Material Procurement:
- Identify and source materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support project timelines and minimize costs.
- Monitor inventory usage and forecast future material requirements.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of supplier capabilities and performance.
Purchase Order Management:
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on project requirements.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to address any procurement-related issues.
Cost Control and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze procurement costs to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis and supplier performance.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for projects.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
- Support audits and inspections related to procurement activities.
**Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of the mechanical subtrade
- Eccellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analystical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of local suppliers and market conditions in Victoria, BC is an asset
