Join our team IN-OFFICE in VICTORIA BC as the lead Business Development Representative / Government Procurement & Sales specialist focused on growing our sales with the governments within Canada (municipal, provincial, federal). This role is pivotal for someone adept in both government procurement, bidding on public solicitations, and the nuances of external communications with government clients.

**Work Location**: 201-2610 Douglas Street, Victoria BC

We provide a variety of services and goods to the governments (municipal, provincial, and federal), acting as procurement project managers. Everyday is different. We've provided a range of goods from ev chargers to computer servers to gym equipment and much more. We've provided a range of services from cybersecurity training to headhunting recruitment to translation and printing. We are entrepreneurs, willing to take on anything and learn along the way.

You MUST be self-driven, constantly seeking ways to help grow the business. We are all very busy during the day, so training will be limited. You will learn on the fly.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Public Solicitations and Bidding**: Proactively search for, identify, and pursue public solicitations, preparing and submitting competitive and compliant bids to RFPs, RFQs, and SOSAs.
- **External Communications**: Act as one of the primary point of contacts for external communications with existing and new government clients, ensuring clear, persuasive, and consistent messaging throughout the sales cycle.
- **Internal Communications**: Communicate and transfer external information from clients to internal in-office admin so they can further communicate the information to internal subcontractors, ensuring successful alignment.
- **Relationship Building**: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key government officials, decision-makers, and stakeholders, leveraging these relationships to understand client needs and position our solutions effectively.
- **Bid Management**: Draft, send, and manage responses to Requests for Proposals, collaborating with internal teams to ensure comprehensive, accurate, and compelling proposals.
- **Quotes and Sales**: Use industry and product knowledge to provide quotations for IT hardware, software, cybersecurity, and related services, tailoring each proposal to meet the specific requirements of government clients.
- **Feedback Analysis**: Monitor and analyze feedback from government entities on both successful and unsuccessful bids, using insights to refine and improve future strategies and communications.
- **Supplier and Partner Collaboration**: Actively connect with other suppliers and business partners to source or collaborate on providing goods and services to the government, effectively "connecting the dots" to meet the comprehensive needs of government contract

**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**
- **Government Sales Experience**: At least 3-5 years of proven experience in sales with a focus on government contracts and procurement. Experience in the IT, hardware, software, and cybersecurity industries is highly desirable.
- **Procurement Expertise**: Deep understanding of government procurement processes and regulations, with a successful track record of responding to RFPs, RFIs (Requests for Information), and RFQs (Requests for Quotations).
- **Strategic Relationship Management**:Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, decision-makers, and stakeholders, as well as with suppliers and business partners.
- **Networking and Negotiation**:Skilled in networking and negotiation, with the ability to identify and engage potential suppliers and partners to collaborate on government contracts.
- **Technical Acumen**:Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in IT, software, and cybersecurity, with the ability to leverage this knowledge in discussions with clients and partners.
- **Project Management Skills**: Proficient in project management, with the ability to oversee multiple proposals and contracts simultaneously, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $19.00-$30.10 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
