We, Mac's Traders Inc., are a family owned and operated Scrap Metal Recycling facility. We are seeking to hire a reliable, energetic, and self-motivated individual to join our office team.

Located in Langley, we are a well-established buyer of various types of Scrap Metal. In our office we handle an array of payable transactions, receivable transactions, client relations, record keeping, and filing.

We have an opening for a **Full-Time Office Assistant**. **This position comes with the opportunity for immense growth within the company/job position.**

**Starting/Training wage for this position is $23-$26 per hour **(*performance and experience dependent). **Please note, wage can increase rapidly in a short amount of time depending on personal growth and job performance.** Upon completion of the Employee’s first 90 days of employment, they shall be eligible for **Medical/Dental benefits**, among other additional benefits.

Our facility is open Monday to Saturday, and is closed on both Sundays and statutory holidays. **The available position would be Monday - Friday, from 9am-5pm **(**hours and days are non-negotiable**, all applicants must be able to work these hours as described).
- **PLEASE NOTE**:_ **Dust and dirt is a common occurrence in this workplace environment. Aspects of this job will involve you needing to hold/check over dirty objects, or leave the office to discuss matters with staff or aid in customer enquiries within the industrial works yard. This is not a desk only job. Should this be of any issue to you for personal and/or health reasons, this may not be the job for you.**

**Position Requirements (*applicants must meet all criteria)**:

- Current and established residence in the Fraser Valley area
- A valid driver’s license & personal vehicle
- Fluent in English both written and verbal
- Previous office experience
- Established understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Willingness to learn industry specific knowledge/protocols
- Previous cash/till experience
- Basic computer literacy in using Word Processing, spreadsheet software, and general internet navigation
- Physically capable and able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable around machinery and loud noises
- Comfortable around large breed office/guard dog
- Completion of a clean Criminal Record check if hired
- Comfortable in a work environment where dust and dirt is a common occurrence

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
- Answer electronic enquiries
- Handle Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Cashier Duties
- Respond to questions and requests for information
- General computer and administrative tasks/record keeping
- Determine and establish office procedures and routines
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory
- Handle receiving of inventory
- General works yard staff communications
- Organizing dispatch requests and scheduling
- General cleaning duties
- Use of handheld hard-bristled grinders
