London, Canada Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre Full time

To assist in the development and implementation of skill based, recreational, and educational programs to assist community members with systems navigation and service referral. To conduct resident interviews and research to deliver community-based newsletters that promote the Centre and the Glen Cairn and Pond Mills communities.
- Promotion of all Centre wide programs and events and recruitment of participants;
- Overseeing program day to day, ensuring organization and smooth operations of programming;
- Assisting with the maintenance of the Centre’s front-end, including reception support.
- Collaborating with team members, and ensuring everyone works as a team;
- Connect community members to appropriate resources through systems navigation, as needed;
- Coordination of community services through research, investigation, and service delivery;
- Collect information and or surveys from community members on how we can provide better services;
- Deliver a monthly community newsletter that showcases community stories and events. Community highlights are showcased through resident interviews, surveys, documentary-style videography, and photography;
- Maintain records of attendance, program activities, and safety checks;
- Act as an appropriate/positive role model for area residents;
- Liaise with community, volunteers, youth and area partners to promote program activities and events;
- Participate in relevant staff training, staff meetings and prepare all appropriate paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Six months to one year of job related experience preferred;
- Some secondary education in a business or community development area of study (Marketing, communications, community development, business management, community liaison, journalism, etc.) an asset or two years of community college preferred;
- Must have a Current CPR and First Aid or a willingness to obtain PRIOR to start date - MANDATORY;
- Must have a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) prior to start date - MANDATORY;
- Previous experience with diverse populations;
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to follow direction and work as a team member;
- Ability to speak French, Spanish, or Arabic would be an asset;
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle mandatory.

Positions Commence: June 24, 2024 Ends: August 16, 2024

Hours: 35 Hours Per Week Wages: $17.00

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. - Possible occasional weeknights and weekends.
