**Family and Community Engagement Coordinator**

Reporting to the Executive Director and the Board, the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for directly supporting and over-seeing all family work related to future planning and building natural support networks around our members with a disability.

Key Accountabilities include:

- Work 1-1 with families to help them navigate systems and ensure the supports they have in their life meet the needs of their loved one.
- Keep current on community resources available for families and seek out opportunities and partnerships that will support families.
- Assist families to create a roadmap or “path” for their loved one.
- Help families to plan for a good life for their loved one in 5 key areas through the development of workplans with the goal of moving them from unprepared to peace of mind and support their goals.
- Provide consultations for new families and actively recruit families to be part of the organization.
- Actively participate in National calls with our affiliate organizations across the country.
- Provide a monthly impact update to Executive Director and the Board.
- Document all meetings and create monthly invoices for families that accurately reflect time.
- Ensure all files related to Lifetime Members are accurate and current.
- Coordinate activities and events for PLAN members that focus on community inclusion.
- Develop family and member newsletters as well as social media content.
- Facilitate trainings and workshops for parents and caregivers.
- Adhere to annual Board approved budget and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
- Seek out grant opportunities and funders to support the organization.

Qualifications include:

- Degree or diploma in a relevant field and/or extensive experience working with families or within the disability field;
- Clear police check including vulnerable sector search;
- Access to reliable transportation;
- Knowledge of creating natural support networks an asset, and;
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 9 months
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
