The Partnerships team in the Climate Action Secretariat is a passionate, friendly, and collaborative team of ten, dedicated to empowering local governments to advance climate action across British Columbia. Working closely with senior management, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, UBCM, and local governments, this team plays a key role in helping communities reduce emissions and build climate resilience, with a focus on implementing the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 and the Climate Preparedness and Adaptation Strategy.

**The Role**
As the Director of Partnerships, you will lead a dedicated team and build collaborative relationships with local governments to drive climate action across British Columbia. This role oversees key funding programs, including a $25 million annual provincial fund and significant joint federal-provincial programs supporting infrastructure and emissions reduction projects. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about advancing climate action and supporting communities across B.C. through impactful partnerships and innovative solutions.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in public administration, economics, political science, business, environmental science or a related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years’ *recent (within the last seven (7) years), related experience OR
- A Diploma and a minimum of seven (7) years’ *recent (within the last seven (7) years), related experience.
- Recent, related experience must include all of the following:

- Providing advice and recommendations to senior executives (e.g. Assistant Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister, Minister, Cabinet, or equivalent senior executive role).
- Experience leading the development and oversight of large, complex funding programs.
- Experience working with local governments in B.C.
- Providing leadership and direction to a team of managers or senior professionals.
- Managing budgets, forecasts, contracts and/or expenditures.
- At least two (2) years’ experience or education (i.e. minimum Diploma) related to climate change.
- Applicants with more years of related experience.
