The Human Rights Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial Tribunal established by the Human Rights Code (“Code”) to provide dispute resolution services in human rights matters. The Tribunal receives, mediates, and adjudicates complaints in human rights matters. Legal Counsel is responsible for providing the Human Rights Tribunal and the Tribunal Chair with effective legal advice, services and representation for complex legal issues related to the Tribunal’s mandate under the Human Rights Code.

**Job Requirements**:

- Must be a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in good standing OR immediately eligible for call to the Law Society of British Columbia with legal experience corresponding to one of the following years of call:

- Legal Counsel Level 2: From 6 to 11 years of call.
- Legal Counsel Level 3: 12 or more years of call.
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience in human rights law and practice.
- Administrative law experience. Civil courtroom advocacy experience.- Experience working for, or advising a court or tribunal.
- Experience in judicial review. Training or experience in trauma-informed practice**About this Position**:

This is a temporary opportunity until 3/29/2025. This temporary opportunity may be extended or become permanent
