As we continue to grow and expand our teams, we are currently seeking RESTAURANT EVENTS ASSISTANTS for our diversified locations.
The RESTAURANT EVENTS ASSISTANT provides a wide range of clerical duties, office administrative duties, project coordination, office maintenance and accounting support to the Event Sales Department. Provide operational support to the RESTAURANT EVENTS SALES MANAGER, as well as assist in answering event inquires and create proposals.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Operations**:
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all Glowbal Restaurant Group policies and service procedures.
- Ensure correct and timely completion of all administrative work.
- Distribute confirmed event BEOs in timely manner to all departments.
- Maintain open lines of communication between events department, front-of-house and back-of house departments, including but not limited to leading and/or participating in weekly event meetings.
- Prepare event packages, including printing BEOs, menus and function feedback forms.
- Record post-event sales in a timely and accurate manner.
**Customer Service**:
- Prepare, set-up and execute functions and off-site catering events as required.
- Set up Audio Visual equipment pre-event.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Accommodate all requests for information courteously.
- Constantly be aware of the needs of the customer, continuously striving to create the “perfect event”.
**Human Resources**:
- Foster and maintain excellent communication with all managers within Glowbal Restaurant Group.
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 1+ year experience in similar position.
- Degree/diploma in Business, Hospitality or Event Management an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet searches.
- Prior administrative experience and exposure to marketing and sales an asset.
- Prior restaurant experience and working knowledge of Tripleseat and Sevenrooms are assets.
- First Aid and Food Safe certification are assets.
- Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and pedantic attention to detail.
- Superior customer service skills in addition to impeccable personal presentation.
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Ability to provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.
- Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions in pressure situations.
- Ability to perform job functions with mínimal supervision.
**TO WORK FOR US**: You MUST have valid proof of Social Insurance Number and be legal to work in Canada with proof as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Residence or Valid Work Permit.
