**About the position**:
The BCCLA is seeking a Communications & Outreach Manager to support the organization’s communications and outreach efforts. This is a part time (0.6 FTE, 21 hrs/week), fixed term position effective summer 2023 to July/August, 2024.

The position will work closely with the Engagement team (a five-person team including this role). In this part-time position, you will report to the interim Communications & Outreach Director and Executive Director and collaborate with the Outreach and Communications Coordinator and Supporter Engagement and Development Manager.

This position is normally based at our office in Vancouver at #306-268 Keefer St, on unceded Indigenous lands belonging to the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓wətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil Waututh) nations.

In light of COVID-19, this position will work partially in-person, in incompliance with WorkSafeBC guidelines for in-office work during the pandemic, and partially remotely. A laptop and access to all required platforms will be provided.

**What We Offer**:
Compensation: Salary is based on the BCCLA’s Salary Structure, with a commitment to wage parity across manager-level positions within the organization. The salary for this 0.6 FTE position is $39,060 per annum (based on a base salary of $65,100 per annum for 1.0 FTE).

**This position is responsible for the following**:
**Communications and Supporter Engagement**
- Support the implementation of the BCCLA’s communications strategy, with direction from the interim Communications & Outreach Director, and in collaboration with the Outreach and Communications Coordinator.
- Design graphics for the organization, maintaining consistent style across visual assets.
- Contribute to the BCCLA’s WordPress website, including creating and updating content to support BCCLA staff in creating a variety of digital and written resources.
- Contribute to the BCCLA’s social media presence, including writing posts and designing assets for Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Support in building and executing digital action campaigns (such as petitions), including copywriting, setting up digital tools, and creating visual assets.
- Support the interim Communications & Outreach Director in managing media relations, including the maintenance of BCCLA’s media list, press releases, media monitoring, and press conferences. This includes support with triaging incoming media requests, and editing and distribution of media releases.
- Contribute to the Engagement team’s copywriting, editing, and proofreading efforts.
- Other duties as required

**Outreach and Event Programming**
- Contribute to the writing, production, distribution, and design of the BCCLA’s annual report,newsletter, legal factsheets and handbooks, and other publications.
- Support the interim Communications and Outreach Director and Outreach and Communications Coordinator in carrying out the association’s supporter and outreach events including the Annual General Meeting, member and educational events, and Annual Youth Conference.
- Support with campaign launch events and report launches.
