Student Assistant 2, Technology Solutions Centre

**This posting will be used to hire 2-3 positions**

**Responsibilities**:

- Desktop computers, laptop computers, printers, and related peripheral devices
- Telephone equipment and business machines
- Connectivity issues with networking equipment
- Both packaged software programs and internally customized ones
- Logs service incidents and requests using computerized call tracking software (or manually, if necessary).
- Assign more complex incidents and requests to the correct second or third level specialist support group for investigation and resolution.
- When time allows, reads documentation to try and solve problems and learn more about technology, tries to replicate problems on equipment in the work area, or cleans surfaces of equipment.
- Policy and procedure familiarization, when time allows.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a full-time student at The University of Winnipeg.
- Must have customer service skills to effectively deal with clients using recognized customer services principles.
- Must have solid knowledge of either the Windows or Mac operating systems, with preference to those who demonstrate knowledge of both systems.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical information and instructions clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. Able to communicate that information in everyday terms to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to working day and evening shifts.

**An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.**
