The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports faculty and course instructors in their professional development as teachers, and provides consultations, resources and technology support to enhance learning in their courses and programs. CTL also enhances academic skill development both within and beyond courses through our English Language Development Support, Facilitated Study Groups, Mathematics and Statistics Learning Support, Experiential Learning, and Writing Support programs.

**Your opportunity**:
As Academic Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the Green Path and Access programs and curricula, including English language, intercultural communication, presentation skills and mental health and wellness programming. You will also oversee language instructor training and make hiring recommendations to the Manager. In addition, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining language assessment and feedback practices with respect to student performance and assessing the needs of students. As part of developing programs, you will determine learning outcomes for programs, an effective evaluation framework and track student success and engagement. You will also play a key role as a member of the Centre for Teaching and Learning’s Student Support Committee.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Developing and implementing new programsand initiatives independently
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts (ie. coordinate with International Academic Programs and Initiatives office; consult with faculty and educational developers on course and assessment design, and presentation skills development; work with accessibility specialists on universal design considerations; liaise with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office and Community Partnerships colleagues on issues and challenges related to equity and access; work with International Student Centre to support international students)
- Conducting detailed analysis (ie. including writing reports) on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
- Consulting with instructors, administrators and student groups on the development of tailored programming needs
- Providing feedback to students on their performance during practical exercises based on observation (ie. feedback on assessments and presentations to support language competency and presentation skills development)
- Analyzing and recommending enhancements to student success programs
- Tracking milestones and timelines
- Keeping well-informed on the research, literature, theory, trends and best practices for post-secondary success

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Master's Degree in Higher Education or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum five years experience training and supporting English language learners in developing English language competency and academic literacy
- Experience coordinating programs and developing curricula in a Post Secondary Environment
- Demonstrated experience with implementing new programs and initiatives
- Strong presentation skills, specifically in programming and skills development
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, in order to develop tailored programs
- Experience analyzing and researching processes and programs and recommending changes for improvement
- Ability to provide feedback to different stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track timelines, development, and programs
- Ability to produce high quality and accurate work with a strong attention to detail
- Experience assigning and checking work of others and acting as a resource with job-related guidance
