Culinary Manager

Overview:
Planters Ridge Winery is seeking an experienced and creative Culinary Manager to join our team. The Culinary Manager will be responsible for creating delicious dishes with a focus on seasonal, local products that complement our wines. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful setting and be part of the Nova Scotia wine industry, creating memorable culinary experiences for guests from all over the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality dishes in a timely manner, ensuring consistency and adherence to food safety standards.
- Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, stock organization and rotation, food ordering, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Collaborate with tasting room staff to provide menu updates and ensure seamless service.
- Develop and execute menu plans, considering seasonal availability and wine pairings.
- Work with key staff members to plan and execute special events, including menu pairing for Wine & Barrel Club parties.
- Organize and oversee breakfast service for The Stay at Planters Ridge, our on-site accommodations.
- As operational needs dictate, the Culinary Manager may be required to assist in various capacities within the tasting room. Flexibility and willingness to contribute to different aspects of the business are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience cooking in a professional kitchen environment.
- Experience in menu development, inventory control, food safety, and food costing.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
- Creativity and adaptability to work in a small kitchen space.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours as needed.
How To Apply
Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
