**Job Summary**:
This position will assist the Project Leader - Woodlands with field collection in managed woodlands throughout the City, conduct research on relevant issues, using a variety of methodologies and to consolidate information.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Visit sites and conduct inspections/field surveys to collect and analyse data
- Aid in the implementation and administration of various city wide woodland management projects
- Assist with the administration of various forestry related contracts including auditing and monitoring
- Research, review and analyze to assist in the preparation of reports and mapping related to woodland management
- Assess and recommend process improvements
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a Master’s Program with a background in Natural Resource or Forestry education.
- Good communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the public.
- Ability to perform strenuous tasks outdoors, with the potential for rough terrain and adverse weather conditions. Primarily in field environment
- Must hold and provide a copy of a valid and unrestricted Ontario Driver’s License Class G minimum with a driving record that meets City standards (proof will be required at time of interview). Access to a personal vehicle will also be necessary.
- Must hold Emergency First Aid (C) Certification (proof will be required at the time of interview).
- Must possess Green Patch CSA approved safety boots, 6”-8” to cover ankle.
- Must work independently and in a team environment.

Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.30 - 23.59
