Cert Center Canada (“3C”) is an independent flight test, research, development and certification center providing a wide range of services to the aerospace community in Canada and around the world. Founded in 2016 and headquartered on the outskirts of Montreal—one of the largest aerospace centers in the world—Cert Center Canada provides a Canada-wide centralized resource with proven management, tools, and methods to undertake civil and military aerospace projects requiring flight test and certification.

Cert Center Canada provides consulting, services, training, access to test assets and IP to reduce customers’ certification risk, cost and schedule and to help them bring their ideas to market quickly. Its engineers, experience, and Transport-Canada delegated personnel make 3C a trusted and valued partner for the planning and management of flight test and certification projects, regardless of their size and complexity. In this context, 3C is currently engaged in two of Canada’s largest aerospace electrification programs: Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Hybrid Electric Propulsion (HEP) demonstrator, and CAE’s eTrainer program.

**About the role**

In this role you will be responsible for implementing a Safety Management System (SMS) for the company’s flight-test operations. The role entails:

- Creation of an SMS program comprising policies and procedures that are compliant with Transport Canada standards
- Company-wide implementation and training for the new SMS policies and procedures, including ongoing communication, training, and continuous improvement activities
- Specification of appropriate SMS software that is compatible with our partners and subcontractors
- Administering the day-to-day activities of the SMS program, including the “no-fault” feedback program
- Providing leadership to management and employees on the SMS program
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with the SMS program by conducting audits and reviews of the program
- Generating and reporting on historical and predictive data to support the goals of the SMS program

**The must-have requirements**:

- Establishing or administering and SMS program in an aerospace environment
- Staying up-to-date on relevant SMS regulations and guidance materials
- Familiarity with Transport Canada in the SMS context
- Experience working with management and employees in the SMS context
- Conducting site visits and spot-audits

**Experience**:
5-10 years of experience with:

- Aerospace SMS programs
- Conducting risk assessments
- Managing a team and reporting to upper management

**Location & commitments**
