**BACKGROUND**
Heath Data Research Network (HDRN) Canada is a research-enabling, distributed network that supports multi-regional, person-focused research. The work of HDRN Canada is supported by a seven-year, $39M grant awarded by the CIHR under its Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) and has in-kind contributions from network member organizations across Canada. HDRN Canada is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization with many complex and strategic relationships with Ministries of Health and other government entities (which are often funders of network members), with federal agencies and with other groups, networks, and data providers. The network comprises every national, provincial, and territorial centre that holds population-wide health data. As HDRN Canada, our 14 centres work together and share resources to support researchers in using the 543 health and social datasets that our centres hold.

Supported by funding under SPOR, HDRN Canada is committed to public engagement that is continuous, substantial, and meaningful. The HDRN Canada Public Engagement Working Group (PE WG) has been established to develop and deliver HDRN Canada’s Public Engagement (PE) Strategy, in collaboration with the HDRN Canada Public Advisory Council (PAC).

**DUTIES**

The Public Engagement (PE) Research Assistant will work closely with HDRN Canada’s Public Engagement Fellow, who is responsible for the development and implementation of key deliverables within HDRN Canada’s PE Strategy, including the work of the PAC and other projects related to public engagement and health data. The PE Research Assistant will provide support for various research and administrative tasks that will further HDRN Canada’s progress in meaningful public engagement, including coordinating PAC and PE WG meetings, subcommittees, and other meetings as needed; assisting in the planning of knowledge translation events and materials; recording and disseminating PAC and PE WG meeting summaries and materials; communicating with PE WG and PAC members about relevant public engagement opportunities; supporting HDRN Canada projects that include public engagement (e.g. dialogues and public engagement with the PAC and other diverse members of the public about health data); facilitating interactive discussions within the network and with external members of the public; assisting in the preparation of articles and papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals; conducting literature reviews related to PE; preparing blog posts for the HDRN Canada website on PE WG activities and plans; and performing other related duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

As HDRN Canada is a pan-Canadian network, its work is conducted in both English and French. Bilingualism (English and French), or a strong working knowledge of French and English, is strongly preferred. This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement.

**SALARY** $44,310 - $62,135 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
