Students will gain experience in generating ideas, clarifying insights, structuring arguments, composing paragraphs and sentences, critiquing and revising their writing, and communicating effectively to diverse audiences. This course may not be counted toward any English program.

**Estimated course enrolment**: 200 students

**Estimated TA support**: 560 TA hours

**Class schedule**: Thursdays 6-9pm

Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023

**Salary**:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90

Sessional Lecturer I - Long term : $9,930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer II- Long term: $10,326.62

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76

Sessional Lecturer III- Long term: $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

**Minimum qualifications**:PhD degree in English

**Preferred qualifications**:Relevant teaching experience preferred

**Description of duties**: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures, delivering lectures, developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams, holding regular office hours, supervising TA(s).
