**Position Summary**:
Wilfrid Laurier University’s Faculty of Social Work (Faculty) offers a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a PhD. The first two degrees in combination, constitute the professional program accredited by the Canadian Association of Social Work Educators. The PhD offered by the Faculty of Social Work is a research-based degree.

The MSW Indigenous Field of Study consists of a full-time on-campus program and two part-time programs in partnership with First Nations in Ontario. The Associate Dean, IFS provides functional direction to this role.

The Indigenous Field of Study Administrative Coordinator is a multi-functional position that provides administrative coordination through all stages of the graduate student experience cycle from recruitment initiatives, field placement, to graduation for the MSW, Indigenous Field of Study program both at the Kitchener campus and with the part-time partnerships.

The incumbent must be self-motivated and comfortable dealing with a variety of client audiences including students, faculty, staff, community agencies, other university departments, as well as other universities. This position requires a high level of sensitivity, diplomacy and judgment regarding the diverse, evolving nature of the Faculty, its resources, and community relationships.

**Accountabilities**:
**Program Support**
- Coordinates the Indigenous Field of Study program for 60 students annually;
- Coordinates registration of MSW IFS students, ensuring eligibility for continued progression in the program;
- Provides academic advising to IFS students with regards to course sequencing, petitions, and leaves and ensures eligibility to graduate;
- Coordinates funding opportunities for MSW IFS (i.e., Band funding, scholarships and bursaries) prior to, and during, the MSW IFS Program academic year;
- Plans, coordinates and hosts the annual Wholistic Healing Conference;
- Plans and coordinates the Fall Convocation Reception for MSW IFS graduates;
- Plans and coordinates the MSW IFS Orientation in collaboration with alumni relations and the Office of Indigenous Initiatives;
- Creates Class schedule with reference to enrolment and degree requirements;
- Coordinates part-time teaching weeks on and off-campus (i.e. connecting with Indigenous partners, logistics);
- Orders medicines for program ceremonies;
- Supports the initiatives of the Associate Dean, IFS and Elder-in-Residence specific to the Indigenous field of study;
- Create content and updates for the IFS website;
- Monitors Graduate Calendar changes and assists with writing Calendar material, editing (academic plans, course descriptions, faculty listing) and proofreading of Indigenous sections of the Graduate Calendar;
- Plans, coordinates and presents at Cultural Camps, Elders’ Teaching and Self Reflections Camps;
- Serves as Secretary for the MSW IFS team meetings, and the Indigenous Program Management Committee. Creates agenda, takes and distributes meeting minutes and demonstrates knowledge of meeting rules and procedures;
- Participates in circle meetings, ceremonies, and sweat lodges, as required;

- Monitors IFS operating budgets and provide forecasting, updates and reports;
