St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Temporary, Educational Assistant 4 (EA4) for a work assignment at Bellerose Composite High School.
More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values. As a precondition of employment, all potential new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (all recommended doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada and recommended by Alberta Health Services). Exceptions will only be considered upon proof of a medical condition, or other protected ground under the Alberta Human Rights Act.
**Hours of Work**: 30.0 hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Temporary
**Hourly Rate**: $20.56 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
**Start Date**: September 5, 2023
**Deadline for Applications**: Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
Formal Post-Secondary training is preferred
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset
Experience in supporting the classroom teacher with programming modifications or adaptations as needed
Experience delivering interventions and strategies as laid out by the classroom teacher and other multi-disciplinary team members
Use a total communication approach with students including oral communication, sign language, cued speech and visual supports as needed
Knowledgeable in using strategies that enhance communication in a classroom setting, field trips and unstructured parts of the school day
Experience in working with assistive technologies in the classroom
Previous experience working with students with complex medical and cognitive disorders
Experience with providing social, emotional, and behavioral supports in a junior high setting
Experience working with students at the high school level an asset
Current CPR an asset
Experience working with students with various diverse, learning and behavioural needs including Autism an asset
