Court Coordinator

**Key Responsibilities**
Under the direction of the Court Services Supervisor, assures the quality and completeness of court documentation both to the courts and internally.
1. Coordinate the 12 Hour Court Information Clerks and maintain a system to ensure that all court files and follow-ups are forwarded to court in a timely manner and have the appropriate documentation required by court.
2. Updates all court-related reference manuals, legal manuals and court-related documentation.
3. Identify and troubleshoot information flow problems related to court file completion and use of the prosecutions interface.
4. Communicate and liaise with courts and Prosecutions regarding all information and disclosure aspects of current and upcoming court cases.
5. Resolves problems associated with multiple charge, multiple folder, conditions, etc. with officer, court and prosecutions.
6. Assists in the review of custody docket files to ensure accuracy and completion.
7. Assists in the completion of court information’s and warrant request files.
8. Assists with legal document and order entry.
9. Directs reports and prosecutors opinions to appropriate area for further investigation or action on all files being forwarded to court.
10. Handles requests for CPIC and local indices checks requested by prosecutors only, for jury lists and witness lists.
11. Acts as a resource concerning appropriate court document preparation including charge precedents, charges, etc. internally and to the Prosecutors office and other police agencies regarding the status of files.
12. Train detention staff and court information staff on the appropriate police and court processes.
13. Train detention staff on performing the electronic booking process and completion of legal documents.
14. Assists in the preparation of Notice to Parents and out-of-town booking correspondence and forwards in a timely manner.
15. Creates fail to appear and breach files.
16. Other related duties as required.
**Competencies**
1. University degree in Business or Public Administration or Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration with demonstrated experience in the PIEM Court Services and/or Data Quality, or Health Information Professional designation.
2. Thorough understanding of the court system, court documents (Warrants, Recognizance, Undertakings, Informations, etc.). Minimum three years experience working with relevant RPS information systems.
3. Good knowledge of the Criminal Code and Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes and bylaws. Good knowledge of charge precedents.
4. Good knowledge of reporting and report flow procedures.
5. Good written skills and the ability to clearly communicate to investigators report requirements or additional work required.
6. Excellent communication and coaching skills. The ability to demonstrate to others what is required.
7. Organization skills and the ability to coordinate work schedules and time for maximum efficiency and productivity.
8. Tenacity and the ability to process detailed, time consuming and tedious work with attention to detail.
9. Typing ability (minimum 50 w.p.m.).
10. The ability to utilize Windows based software. Excellent working knowledge of business process of the RPS. The ability to do basic word processing and information searches utilizing electronic information systems.
11. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Pay: $73,333.00-$92,237.00 per year
