The **Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) **is a nonprofit organization that delivers an objective-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science
- and technology-based companies. The nine-month program allows founders to learn from experienced entrepreneurs and operators, increasing their likelihood of success. Founded in 2012 by Professor Ajay Agrawal of the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, the program has expanded to 12 sites in six countries. Participating start-ups have created $28 billion CAD in equity value.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
The Venture Manager is responsible for supporting operations of the Creative Destruction Lab, focusing on recruiting ventures for the program, providing business development support to admitted ventures and leading initiatives to support the growth and continuous improvement of the program.
More specifically, responsibilities include:
**Venture Recruitment & Selection**:

- Identify and build relationships with innovation centers in the local and North American ecosystems, including universities, venture capital funds, incubators and accelerators, and technology associations, to build a strong pipeline of CDL venture applicants.
- Develop, support and execute recruitment strategies to prospect ventures and convert leads to applicants.
- Promote the CDL program and its offerings to venture prospects.
- Interview founders and make recommendations on their admission to the program.

**Venture Management**
- Support founders’ journey through the CDL program.
- Develop and manage documentation to support the delivery of the program.
- Coordinate between founders and other program stakeholders (mentors, students, partners, etc.).

**Operations Support**
- Provide ad hoc support to the operation team in planning and delivering CDL Events.
- Support CDL administrative activities as required.
- Support marketing strategies (Social media posts, public relations, etc.) to foster stakeholder engagement.
- Recommend improvements to internal processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Submits to their superior any file requiring special attention; performs any other task at the request of their superior or required by their duties, allowing to maintain or improve the services of their work sector.

**Desired Profile**:

- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or any other degree deemed relevant.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience, particularly with startups or technology-based companies and project management.
- Any acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered for the role.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of business models and drivers of success in startups.
- Entrepreneurial and highly motivated with a strong interest in innovative technologies, startups and venture capital.
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed performance objectives.
- Experienced in using common business software, particularly Google Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Strong, team-oriented work ethic with a willingness to work independently and autonomously.
- Experienced in working with high-performing teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong project management experience with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with financial modelling, conducting market analysis and strategic planning is an asset.
- A university degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) is an asset
