Your Opportunity:
The Procurement Specialist II is a professional position in the Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) Department. This position is responsible for performing complex functions consistent with AHS procurement policies, practices, laws and trade agreements. The incumbent be responsible for data analysis, assisting with preparing contract documents, contract implementation, contract management, and other assigned duties. This Procurement Specialist II position will join the team accountable for Clinical & Pharmacy Sourcing. The Procurement Specialist II entails managing and administering various types of agreements, develop collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and/or external stakeholders, assess the needs with AHS and identify emerging issues. This role requires a strong working knowledge of healthcare, implementation strategies, attention to details, ability to prioritize among multiple initiatives and timelines. The Procurement Specialist II works independently but is supported by a team of Procurement Specialist III, Sourcing Category Leads and Management. This position can be located anywhere within Alberta.
Description:
As a Procurement Specialist II, you will perform complex purchasing functions consistent with established AHS procurement policies, practices, laws, and trade agreements. You will be responsible for the acquisition of supplies, minor equipment, services or supporting functions within assigned work groups. You will perform the acquisition process primarily for purchases of a transactional nature which includes researching/collating information, preparation of requests for quotations, review of quotations, creation of purchase agreements, and issuance of purchase orders. Under the direction of the Manager, you will coordinate and monitor assigned team purchasing activities; acts as a source of knowledge by answering questions, providing technical advice, and assisting in the training of staff.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Demonstrated understanding of contract fundamentals, including Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Customer Relationship Management. Pharmacy experience is considered an asset, a combination of both education and experience will also be considered.
