Project Manager for Machinery Manufacturing

Cambridge, Canada Axiom Machinery Full time

This position involves managing the process of building machines and equipment. We require an exceptionally talented, skilled and organized individual to handle the various aspects of managing complete machine building projects including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies. You will be reviewing and making recommendations for management software required to completely handle project execution including project planning and estimating. Background in machine design and SolidWorks is an asset.

**ABOUT YOU**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Provide guidance and leadership for smooth day-to-day operation
- Review approved drawings as to required specifications for each project
- Understand and communicate with project team our contractual project obligations
- Approve and ensure all CAD production drawings confirm to approved project specifications
- Prepare production schedule and allocation of manpower and resources to finish each project on time
- Establish project budgets
- Approve and manage bill of materials (BOM’s)
- Release projects for production
- Make production schedules for all personal
- Monitor production for day-to-day and ensure production meets schedules
- Monitor personal to ensure highest quality of product and efficiency possible
- Continuously update project schedules and reports to track project deliverables and ensure on-time project execution
- Monitor project expenditures and comparison against established project budgets
- Monitor projects regularly to ensure they are being built in compliance with approved specifications
- Ensure all manufacturing processes are done correctly and on time
- Ensure all project binders and documentation is kept up to date
- Monitor and analyze worker performance and output
- Resolve production constraints
- Allocate resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
- Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies
- Ensure materials and components are delivered on time for assembly
- Look for ways to improve the products being made and production procedures
- Generate, maintain and modify manufacturing process documentation

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED**:

- Graduate of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, geometric tolerances, and dimensions
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient problem solving and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Superior planning and organization skills

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Engineering: 3 years minimum (required)
- Project Management: 3 years minimum (required)
- Experience in Solid Works (prefered)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $62,500.00 per year
