The Sister’s of St Joseph of Sault Ste Marie Motherhouse, located in North Bay, Ontario, is currently seeking an exceptional individual to fill a key management position, as Dietary Manager; a role that is pivotal in enhancing our Mission Values.

Major Areas of Responsibilities:

- Administrative & Operations Management:_

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and dietary guidelines, including therapeutic diets and food safety standards

Collaborate with healthcare professionals and Director of Care to address the nutritional needs of individual Sisters.

Train, supervise, schedule and evaluate dietary team members, including cooks and dietary aides

Provide ongoing training to team members to ensure competence in food preparation, sanitation and service in line with the Mission Values of the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse.

Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, communication and mutual respect among dietary team members
- Budget & Inventory Management: _

Plan, and manage budgets, including food purchasing, labour costs and supplies to ensure operations are cost-effective

Monitor food inventory levels and implement control measures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization

Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising the quality or nutritional value of meals provided to residents
- Regulatory Compliance: _

Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and local regulations governing food service operations

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food production, inventory management and sister/resident dietary needs.

Participate in regulatory inspections and audits, addressing any deficiencies and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:_

Solicit feedback from Sisters, Director of Care and team members to identify areas of improvement and implement changes accordingly

Stay informed about current trends and best practices in the field of dietary services and nutrition

**Requirements**:
Degree or diploma, in Food and Nutrition, Food Preparation or Hospitality Program

2 or more years of leadership experience in a healthcare food service environment (preferred)

Eligible for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management considered (asset)

You have strong people management skills that can guide, motivate and supervise a diverse team while also being able to delegate tasks effectively and timely

Can demonstrate patience, understanding, and ability to connect with Sisters, tenants, guests, and staff

You are able to think quickly, adapt to changing situations, and resolve issues efficiently

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,

Class G Driver’s License

Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills

Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, fully COVID vaccinated

Pay: $28.43-$30.33 per hour
