The Enterprise Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data protection strategies and technical processes/controls to safeguard the organization’s sensitive information. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Solution and implement comprehensive data discovery and classification technologies to aid in larger data protection operations.
- Metadata Repository: Design, build, and maintain a centralized metadata repository.
- Ensure metadata is correctly integrated across various data systems and platforms.
- Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection guidelines.
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to continuously improve data protection capabilities.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees on data protection practices.
- Maintain and update data protection documentation and records.
- Stay current with emerging data protection trends and technologies.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in data protection, information security, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001).
- Experience with data protection tools and technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP) are a plus.

**Skills**:

- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Expertise in Data Protection, Data Governance, Data Loss Prevention, Data Discovery, Data Classification

and Metadata Management
- Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and metrics management skills
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
