**Summary of responsibilities**:
The Chief of Staff is responsible for contributing to the development and management of the framework and infrastructure to support the operations of the Office of the President. The Chief of Staff performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

**What you need to succeed**

**To qualify for the position, you must have**:

- Graduation from a recognized university, or a combination of education and experience in a speciality relevant to the duties of the position;
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the provision of strategic advice and recommendations to senior management;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing policies, guidelines, directives and related systems;
- Experience in managing human and financial resources;
- Experience in analyzing and synthesizing complex and highly sensitive issues relating to the aviation/transportation security;
- Strong understanding of the government decision-making process.

- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with, and to provide strategic advice to an internal/external stakeholder community;
- Ability to analyze and coordinate complex and highly sensitive files simultaneously;
- Ability to examine issues/problems or opportunities and make recommendations regarding strategies to be adopted;
- Ability to write clearly, succinctly and persuasively;
- Ability to problem-solve, manage personnel, and establish work priorities;
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing conditions and shifting priorities;
- Ability to create and maintain ongoing productive relationships with high-level representatives;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Employee management skills.

**Valuable skills include**:

- Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA;
- Knowledge of corporate governance issues and experience managing committees;

- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
