We are looking for a recruiting manager to join our regional HR team located in one of our hotels, the majestic Marriott Château Champlain in downtown Montreal. This position is located at the Montreal Marriott Château Champlain, and will be in charge of human resources and payroll for this hotel. The position is 100% on site.
Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Center and also by 1000 de la Gauchetière. This iconic and emblematic hotel in Montreal was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 1000 customers.

**As an HR and Payroll Specialist, you will**:
- Open and close employee files
- Manage employee lifecycle including staff moves, performance reviews, leave and absence management
- Ensure compliance with labor standards and agreements in force
- Obtain information from the various departments in order to produce payroll within the prescribed deadlines
- Import payroll transactions into the accounting system
- Management of wage entries and rebates
- Management of group insurance premiums, taxable benefits, and deductions the source (DAS)
- Produce statements for employment insurance
- Assist in the production of annual reports (tax slips, summaries, credit for tips, declaration of wages, etc.)
- Answer questions from the various partners (directors generals, supervisors and employees) regarding their payroll and human resources issues
- Managing relationships with unions, including collective bargaining and grievance management
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Provide advice and guidance on HR issues to employees and managers
- Support the accounting and accounting team human resources of Tidan
- Be in charge of social activities in the company (staff party, etc.)
- All other related tasks.
**You have**:
- Experience in payroll and human resources in a unionized environment in Quebec is essential
- Very good knowledge of oral and written French
- Knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word essential
- Proven autonomy with the ability to working independently and taking initiative is essential.
- Experience in the hotel industry is an asset Knowledge of Nethris and Synerion/Timezone software is an asset
