**What you will be doing**:
The Business Licensing Student will be responsible for the following duties:

- Provide information to the public on the City’s business and lottery licensing requirements.
- Audit lottery reports and make note of any irregularities.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as photocopying and data entry.
- Conduct research on business licensing, as required.
- Participate on special projects as required, including review of business licensing and adult entertainment by-laws.
- Aid in filing business and lottery licensing records in both paper and electronic form.

**Education**:

- Actively pursuing a college diploma or university degree in Business Administration or Public Administration

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Currently enrolled in a Business Administration or Public Administration field of study or related program at a recognized educational institute with a co-op placement requirement for educational credits.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Valid Ontario G2 or G Driver’s License with a clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle for business purposes.

**We will ask you for these items if you are hired**:

- Proof of current or future enrolment in post-secondary education.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)

**Your compensation**:
The hourly rate of pay, based on the inside workers union's co-op grid, has an hourly rage of $16.99 - $23.51 per hour.

**Hours of work**:
Hours of work are from Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (35 hours per week) at Cambridge City Hall. This placement is available from April to September 2024.
