Job Profile

As a part of the Community Development department, you will take direction from the Senior -Civil Engineering Technologist, completing the following duties:
What you will be doing
Field Inspections for pavement markings, signage, parking lots, utility restorations
Site investigations related to traffic and parking issues
Preparation of work orders to address deficiencies
Assist with reviewing and responding to traffic engineering and parking investigations including conducting studies as required and traffic warrant analyses for traffic control devices
Assist with Speed Management Program
Assist with Transportation Demand Management and Active Transportation Initiatives
Analyze traffic study and vehicle collision data and input data into Traffic Engineering Software (TES)
Other duties as assigned
Education

Actively pursuing a diploma or degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning

Experience and Knowledge
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings
GIS Mapping Software

Proof of current or future enrolment in post-secondary education.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Valid G2 or G class driver's license.
Your compensation


The hourly rate of pay, based on the inside workers union's co-op grid, has an hourly rage of $ $23.51 per hour.

Hours of work

This co-op placement is available from May to September 2023. Hours of work are from Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
