Job Descriptions
Manages the fabrication process assuring safety, quality control, productivity, equipment maintenance and material staging. Supervises, trains, and leads Fabricators and fabricators and other shop employees.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES**
- Executes work orders as received by Production or Project Manager and ensures streamlined communication throughout project.
- Ensure production goals are understood and met by all fabricators and reports work completed daily, including productions, timecards, cut sheets, and inventory reports. Adjusts work strategies daily to maximize production.
- Ensures the quality of the product produced is up to standards.
- Manage and stage materials for smooth production, and safe, efficient loading.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and complete fabrication of stone products as received.
- Operate bridge saw, waterjet, CNC; manage equipment maintenance;
- Ability to train, lead and coach other employees.
- Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites.
- Models The JMJ mission and values at all times.
- This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum of 5 years of Quartz and Granite or Tile or Cabinet & Countertop industry experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and other construction plans.
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
**Duties**:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient production
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to shop employees, providing clear instructions and guidance
- Monitor work progress and quality to ensure adherence to company standards
- Train new employees on shop procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, coordinating with procurement as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demands
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance as necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
- Ensure that fabrication deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Previous work experience within the stone / solid surface countertop / woodwork fabrication shop environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a shop or manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of shop equipment, tools, and processes
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
