**Position: Live-In Monitor (Future Global Leaders Program)**

**Overview**:UBC Camps invites you to be an integral part of a unique program for Canadian and International youth. Our goal is to create a fun learning environment that takes place inside and outside of the classroom. We combine formal education with exciting extra-curricular activities and sightseeing opportunities.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with students ages 15-18 in group settings
- Experience working with culturally-diverse youth
- Familiarity and knowledge about both UBC and Vancouver
- Strong customer service & communication skills
- Hard working, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to new situations and to be flexible with change
- Ability to provide current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Minimum of Standard First Aid with CPR-C / AED
- Second Language an asset
- Experience in live-in and/or international camp situations (preferred)
- Ability to use personal cell phone for work purposes, including data, required

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**:
Ensuring the health and safety of students

Supervising all activities, meals, and free time in residence
Accompanying students to afternoon and evening activities

Attending to students’ concerns
Participating in daily team meetings with Live-In Monitors and Senior Live-In Monitors
Being on site 24 hours a day during the program schedule / on-duty days
Participating in activities as a role model of appropriate enthusiasm and social skills
Ensuring that students are abiding by residence rules and regulations
Ensuring that bed-time and wake-up are on time
Being able to perform intermittent early morning and late evening duties
Performing late night rounds with other monitors

**Duration of Position and Salary Breakdown**:
Training: June 24 - 27, 2024 and June 29, 2024: $648.00 stipend. Room and board included.

Session 1: June 30 - July 13, 2024: $1,600.00. Room and board included. On Call. Two Days Off per Week.

Session 2: July 14 - July 27, 2024: $1,600.00. Room and board included. On Call. Two Days Off per Week.

Session 3: July 28 - August 11, 2024: $1,600.00. Room and board included. On Call. Two Days Off per Week.

**Pre-Screening Question**:During their trip to Robson Street, students have 2 hours of free time. What _instructions _would you give them to ensure their safety? How would you _communicate _these instructions?

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

**Salary**: $3,200.00 per month
