Associate, Productivity & Strategic Planning

**What is the opportunity?**

RBC Capital Markets is undertaking a green field project to build a new capability to serve corporate clients. The primary function of this role is to provide operational insights and analysis to our team’s leadership and business units so that we can manage the various streams of our program and optimize our ability to manage operations and strategy.

The Associate, Productivity & Strategic Planning will provide impactful analyses of our operations, help with business platform level financial planning and offer unique insights on overall health of the program and its performance. Tasks will include partnering with cross-functional teams, creating compelling presentations and reporting on / building complex financial models

**What will you do?**

RBC Capital Markets competes in a fast paced, highly technical and challenging space. Being able to quantify our own performance with a continuous improvement goal in our measurables against objectives and key results is key to our success.

The Associate, Productivity & Strategic Planning will be impactful in various strategy areas relating to strategic program delivery, including but not limited to:

- Analyzing program performance including burn down rates, financial performance and risk vs controls monitoring.
- Provide insights about how the overall program is operating and health status
- Assist leadership with financial forecast planning - including budgeting, competitive benchmarking and scenario planning
- Partner with stakeholder internal and external to RBC to provide timely insights that lead to actions and impact
- Partner with business units to create customized dashboards that will empower them to drive business value
- Work closely with senior executives to define, track and measure operational excellence and financial goals

**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have**
- Experience with storytelling through excellent writing and visualization skills, translating complex knowledge into compelling presentations that resonate with end-users at various levels.
- Experience with the pressure of deadlines and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science or a technical field

**Nice to have**
- You embrace new experiences with curiosity, adaptability, and a sense of adventure.
- You are relentlessly useful and enjoy working with a mixed group of talented individuals and teams that span many levels and many specializations
- Working knowledge of Python and various data libraries a plus but not required
- Six sigma or other process improvement experience
